Anthropic has introduced two Claude beta features: Dashboards for generating live data dashboards and Motion for creating animated explainer videos, according to the-decoder.com. Dashboards is available to paid users. Motion requires a Team or Enterprise plan.

Anthropic says Dashboards connects to sources including BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake and Salesforce, builds dashboards from text prompts, and updates them automatically. Each number exposes its underlying query, and results can feed tools including Amplitude, Grafana and Hex. Motion accepts text, diagrams and images, produces animations editable as code, and supports MP4 exports.

For a team considering Dashboards, the useful first trial is an existing report with known calculations. Compare the generated figures with that report, then inspect the exposed queries for date ranges, filters and aggregation choices. Query visibility offers a way to review the output, but it does not itself establish that Claude has interpreted a business metric correctly. Before connecting company data, also check access permissions and refresh behavior for the intended workflow.

Motion suggests a different evaluation: whether a generated explanation is easier to revise and deliver. Try a short explainer based on an existing diagram, check whether the animation preserves its meaning, and assess whether someone on the team can make the required code edits. MP4 export provides a concrete deliverable; the practical question is how much correction it takes to reach an acceptable version.

The rollout also changes the choice for users who mainly need static materials. Docs, Slides and Design are leaving beta and becoming available across all plans, including free accounts. Those users can evaluate the tools on a free account before deciding whether dashboard access or video creation justifies a paid plan. Existing Claude Design users have a separate transition to review: the previously announced product will move into the main app by December 14, and the report says a migration guide is available.
